Testalonga is a bit of an outlaw producer.
The South African government have even blocked his wines from export before, basically for not being 'typically South African' enough. Winemaker Craig Hawkins is a passionate proponent of minimal intervention winemaking and the use of organic grapes. I Wish I Was a Ninja is a Pet Nat made from 100% Colombard, a French variety related to Chenin Blanc that we don't see a lot of in Australia. With a slightly funky nose, there's also a lovely fresh acidity and beautiful apple and peach coming through. Awesome Pet Nat, and only 8.5%!
