Pianogrillo is a manor with roots stretching back to the ancient past - including an on-site oil mill made from volcanic stone dating back to the third century AD!
The modern cellar of the winery was built in 2014, and the business is overseen by Lorenzo Piccione di Pianogrillo who is also an expert in extra-virgin olive oil production and a descendent of the historic Sicilian family from whom the winery and historic manor take their name.  This Grillo (an indigenous Sicilian grape variety) shows grapefruit, lemon and apple with a really refreshing acidity and minerality. Crisp, delicious and fantastic value!
