Before he became a winemaker, Riley Harrison found himself in a nine to five job dreaming of doing something different and creative with his time.
In 2015 a tonne of Grenache entered his life, changing it forever, and Harrison Wines was born. We've been consistently impressed with Riley's wines, and these 2021 releases look like his best yet! Sourcing Roussanne and Grenache Blanc from the special Yangarra Estate Vineyard (which specialises in Southern Rhone varieties), Riley's made a refreshing yet complex blend which he describes here: "Texture is the key with this wine. The Roussanne spends 2 days on skins and the Grenache Blanc is left for 24 hours. Silty, chalky, powdery. Licks of freshly cut pear, spice-laden apple pie and a whisper of chamomile flow effortlessly through a fine dusting of powdery tannin.
