Eduard Tscheppe and Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselböck started Gut Oggau in 2007 in the small town of Oggau in Bergenland, Austria.
Taking over a 17th century winery and restoring its 200 year old grape press, they set about converting all the abandoned vineyards to organic and biodynamic agriculture. This is a gorgeous blend of Blaufränkish and Roesler (a variety which is a cross between Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch) and displays blackcurrent, cherry and complex savoury characters.
