Rodrigo Mendes and his family have a long history in viticulture in Rias Baixas.
Forjas del Salnes is his winery, which specialises in white wines made from albarino as well as red wines made from a myriad of local varieties that are little-known outside of the region. The name Goliardo is a word from the Gallego dialect, which describes a kind of trop in Galician society: a slightly drunk young philosopher enamoured with his own knowlege lecturing anyone who's around whether they like it or not! This is an easy drinking Juicy red made from a blend of all local varieties with notes of berries, spices and earthyness. Beautiful and interesting red blend!
