Notes from Courtney Christie, the winemaker and integral member of the WineWolf foundation:
The WineWolf Foundation was established in memory of vinologist Lotte Wolf, who passed away on September 11, 2018 at the age of 32. The WineWolf Foundation wants to keep Lotte’s love and enthusiasm for wines alive with activities in the wine world that she supported. Lotte made wine in SA during the harvest of 2009. Spending time with the loveable rogues of the Mclaren Vale and the Barossa (including none other than the great Tom Shobbrook). There was always talk of her South African label expanding to an Australian project, so here we are! Handpicked on February 14th 2021 by her friends, and whole bunch pressed straight away. Settled overnight and racked to a 400L puncheon and a stainless steel component. The wine is vibrant, zesty, has a fine line of mineralogy and locks of lemon curd and brioche. Semillon makes the perfect accompaniment to food or is dangerously delicious by itself.
