This is a dry Chenin Blanc made from two separate parcels (one with older vines and one with younger vines) from near Faye d’Anjou where the soil is sandy and younger vines also with sandy soil.
The grapes were hand harvested, pressed directly and then fermented with indigenous yeasts only. The juice was transferred to fibreglass tanks for maturation. Old vine Chenin is a real treat as there is a complexity in the wine that cannot be achieved from young vines. There are hints of stone fruit in this wine. The vineyards are certified organic by Bureau Veritas. The wine is quite dry and is low in alcohol at only 12 percent. This is an excellent wine particularly when you consider the price. Living Wines
