A late release under cork, this blend exhibits oxidative characters reminiscent of the Jura in France. Matured in an old puncheon and given time in bottle, this wine is perfectly suited to summer drinking. The Chardonnay component comes from a high altitude, continental vineyard in Ouse, upper Derwent valley. The Riesling is sourced from the Derwent also, a site in lower Plenty. Both varieties were whole bunch pressed separately and fermented in tank before being blended to old oak for maturation, purposely handled in an oxidative environment, to create savoury notes and complexity. Small batch, only 600 bottles produced.
