Marsanne makes a medium bodied lightly aromatic wine. We get the best results from our Biodynamic Marsanne by picking while the sugar levels in the grapes are still relatively low, and for a wine with just 12% alcohol, this Marsanne shows an impressive degree of flavour intensity and complexity. From a crisp beginning, there are intense flavours including honeysuckle notes characteristic of the marsanne fruit. There is plenty of mouth feel and texture, and a long lingering finish. Fermented in tank, the wine was kept for a year on yeast lees before being gravity bottled under Diam corks, with just a touch of sulphur to help keep it fresh during the many years over which we would expect it to further develop.
